The Beaubassin-est Rural Community was officially incorporated on July 31st, 2006. The municipality has a population of 6 200 people on a territory of 291 km², divided in 6 Wards (Botsford, Saint-André-LeBlanc, Grand-Barachois, Boudreau West, Haute-Aboujagane and Cormier Village).
A public meeting is held at the municipal office on every third Monday of the month at 7 pm. Residents can address Council to express their opinions, but a request must be submitted to the clerk at least 3 business days prior to the meeting.You can find information on the topics that will be discussed at the public meetings on the municipal Website, as well as minutes from our public meetings and our adopted By-Laws, which also includes the rural plan.
We are now responsible for certain services, including Garbage Collection, Public Street Lights, and Fire Protection. As for Public Safety, Beaubassin-est has an Emergency Measures Plan. The Planning Department of the Regional Service Commission #7 provides services pertaining to construction and development.
The municipality also manages Community Services and organizes activities for the population, like the Community Clean-Up Day, Summer Camps for kids, the annual Summer Party, a Halloween Party, the Tree of Hope Lighting and a Christmas Party.
